The Houston Texans placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on defensive end/outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney on Monday. The move doesn’t close the door for the Texans to sign the edge rusher to a long-term deal. General manager Brian Gaine says: “Our goal is to continue to work with his representation on a long-term contract. This gives us both an opportunity to continue to do so.”Houston will offer Clowney Senio Kelemete Jersey , the first overall pick in the 2014 draft, a one-year guaranteed contract for an amount based on position. Because Houston used the non-exclusive tag on Clowney, he can sign immediately or attempt to get an offer sheet from another team. If he is given an offer sheet, the Texans would have the chance to match it.In that scenario, if the Texans did not match the offer, the new team would have to give up two first-round picks as compensation for taking the franchise player.Clowney has said repeatedly he’d like to remain a Texan and after Houston lost 21-7 to the Colts in the wild-card round in January he reiterated that sentiment.“We were a lot better than what we played (against Indianapolis) Black Tytus Howard Jersey ,” he said then. “Of course I want to come back and show everybody that with this team. But that’s up to them.”Coach Bill O’Brien wouldn’t speculate on Clowney’s future last week at the NFL combine, but he did talk about his time coaching him.“I’ve had a really good experience with JD,” O’Brien said. “He’s played good football for us. He’s a good person. I’ve enjoyed coaching him … I’ll leave (contract discussions) to Brian … but I have nothing but good things to say about JD.”After missing all but four games as a rookie because of a knee injury, Clowney has steadily improved each year and developed into one of the top defenders in the league, making the Pro Bowl in each of the last three seasons. The 26-year-old played 13 games and had 4 1/2 sacks in his second season, but some still questioned if he could replicate the success he had in college in the NFL.He started to quiet the doubters in 2016 when he started 14 games and had 52 tackles White Tytus Howard Jersey , six sacks and forced a fumble. But it wasn’t until 2017 when he took his game to the next level. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound Clowney had 59 tackles and 9 1/2 sacks, forced two fumbles and recovered three, including one for his first NFL touchdown.Clowney built on that success last season when J.J. Watt returned after missing most of the previous two seasons with injuries. The two became one of the most fearsome pass rushing duos in the league. Clowney finished with 47 tackles, nine sacks, a forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries Youth Tytus Howard Jersey , with one for another touchdown. Class is in session. A verdict is in. With the conclusion to the week having arrived and the carrot of free time dangling in front of you finally being in your possession Tytus Howard Jersey 2019 , let’s open the floor and see what you have to say. Bleacher Report graded every team’s offseason so far. They gave the Texans a D-. This is what they had to say:Personally, I’d give the Texans a C. I think they made the right move signing Tashaun Gipson instead of paying an exorbitant amount for Tyrann Mathieu. Bradley Roby is fine; it’s like replacing Kareem Jackson with a Kareem Jackson who covers better but doesn’t tackle as well. We’ll have to wait and see on Briean Boddy-Calhoun.The signing of Darren Fells should let players like Jordan Akins and Ryan Griffin play more of a pass catcher role instead of asking them to make blocks they struggle to make. Franchise-tagging Jadeveon Clowney was the right answer; now the Texans need to lock him up. But the Texans still have around $44 million in cap space. They have Deshaun Watson on a rookie contract. The time to win is now. They should have gone after an interior rusher, and they still should. The secondary will be better, but it won’t be able to have success on their own. They should have outbid the Titans for Roger Saffold so they finally had a player who can block the second level and give Lamar Miller the chance to actually break tackles. They have been too conservative in an offseason where it was time to be aggressive. The night is still young. There are other things to do, people to see, and avenues to explore. That being said Tytus Howard Houston Texans Jersey , at this time, how do you feel? What grade would you give the Texans’ offseason so far?
On Friday afternoon http://www.packerslockerroom.com/authen … son-jersey , new Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur spoke to the media for the first time since his introductory press conference on Wednesday. LaFleur made an appearance with Adam Schein of CBS Sports, and he provided Packers fans with a few notable bits of news. Most significant is LaFleur’s confirmation that Mike Pettine will indeed return to the Packers as defensive coordinator in 2019. Pettine assumed that position in early 2018, following the firing of Dom Capers. In his first season as DC, Pettine’s unit struggled to finish 22nd in points allowed and 18th in yards allowed while ranking an abysmal 29th in DVOA and turnovers. However, the Packers did finish 8th in the NFL in sacks, led by Kyler Fackrell (10.5) and Kenny Clark (6.0), and they ranked 13th in opponents’ third-down conversion rate at 37.3%.Of course, the Packers dealt with a massive quantity of injuries to defensive starters in 2018, plus consistent personnel changes throughout the year. The team entered week 17 with just three of its pre-training camp starters still on the 53-man roster. Still Geronimo Allison Jersey White , Green Bay will need to see improvement from its defense in Pettine’s second year on the job if he is to get an opportunity to coach for a third season. In addition to confirming Pettine’s return, LaFleur also noted that Nathaniel Hackett is “on the radar” as an offensive coordinator candidate. Earlier on Friday, a report indicated that Hackett is interviewing in Green Bay, likely for that position. In addition, Alex Marvez of FOX Sports had reported that the Packers were set to hire Brayden Coombs as the team’s new special teams coordinator. However, that report was premature, and Coombs, who was with the Cincinnati Bengals, is no longer expected to come to Green Bay.Stay tuned for more news on the assembly of LaFleur’s assistant coaching staff in the coming hours and days. Mason Crosby had an extra day to think about what he’d done. An all-time ignominious performance against the Lions with five missed kicks and the dreaded talk of the yips. Maybe the extra day gave him time to get right because when the Packers needed him to pull a victory out of the proverbial jaws of defeat Montravius Adams Jersey , Crosby came through. In the post-game interview, Green Bay’s veteran kicker could barely find the words, admitting to being “broken up” about hitting the game winner in the Packers’ 33-30 come-from-behind win. With 1:07 left, the game tied at 30. Aaron Rodgers said he was thinking overtime but Ty Montgomery broke off a 14-yard run to get things going. A Richard Sherman illegal contact penalty extended the drive and Aaron Rodgers made San Francisco pay. After coming up lame a few plays before, Rodgers scampered for 21 yards for a huge momentum-building chunk play. Davante Adams caught a little out route to the sideline for nine yards to inch the Packers closer. Adams finished with a monster 10 catch night for 132 yards and the game-tying touchdown on a beautiful double move. The play of the night may have been what followed. Needing to get a little closer for Crosby, Rodgers hit rookie Equanimious St. Brown on his only target of the night on a corner route for 19 yards in which EQ had to contort his body and get two feet down along the sideline. The next 19 yarder to Adams was just gravy and Crosby won the game from there. “We had faith in Mason from anywhere tonight,” Rodgers said after the game and it showed. Crosby went 4-4 including the game-winner and unlike last week, made all three of his PATs.Heroics were needed because after a quick start, the offense bogged down and the defense couldn’t get a stop until late. In the first half Monday Aaron Ripkowski Jersey White , the Packers forced two turnovers, Aaron Jones averaged over seven yards a carry, Aaron Rodgers was rolling, Mason Crosby made kicks, and yet Green Bay trailed the hapless 49ers led by CJ Beathard. For the third time this season, the Packers allowed a first-drive score on a seven-play 75-yard march featuring bad pursuit, coverage busts, assignment issues and bad tackling But the Packers offense looked up the task early, as McCarthy deployed personnel creatively and killed the 49ers defense with play action. On the first possession Womens Jermaine Whitehead Jersey , a 60-yarder to Marqueze Valdes-Scantling, who also had a 100-yard game, was a harbinger of things to come for this passing game as Rodgers finished 25/46 for 425 yards, two touchdowns and a 100.4 rating. Jimmy Graham finally appears to have a place in this offense after his own 100-yard game including big plays and key catches. Green Bay scored its first opening-drive touchdown of the season but couldn’t keep the 49ers offense at bay and took a 24-20 deficit into halftime. For the steps forward the offense did take, the Packers finished 0-5 on third down in the first half, a bug-a-boo so far this season. But Green Bay has been the master of halftime adjustments andmade them on both sides of the ball. Rodgers, having scored on every first drive of the second half this season, mixed run and pass well en route to a field goal from Mason Crosby to make it a one-point game. Another third-and-long stymied the drive. An embarrassing missed tackle by Clay Matthews lead to a 49ers retaliatory field to push the lead back to 27-23. It wasn’t until under six minutes in the third quarter the Packers finally converted a third down, but the drive ended in a punt and the 49ers once again deployed Robbie Gould to make it a 30-23 game. A terrific chance to tie the game went begging when the Packers couldn’t convert on fourth-and-short near the goal line. Rodgers appeared to want MVS to run his route flatter as opposed to the corner and Green Bay turned it over on downs. It was the defense’s turn to step up. From there they forced two straight three-and-outs to give the ball back to the Packers with 2:59 left in the game. Rodgers needed just four plays to go 58 yards thanks to a beautiful deep cross to Adams for 38 yards. On third-and-six from the 49ers 16 Womens Brett Favre Jersey , with Rodgers just 2/8 passing in the red zone to that point, the two-time MVP threaded a needle into the back of the end zone for and the game-tying touchdown. Needing a stop to either give the ball back or force overtime, the Packers defense held. Facing a zero blitz with no safety in the middle of the field, Beathard heaved one down the field with Kevin King in coverage. King turned just in time to see the ball float into his arms to give the Packers the ball with that 1:07 left. That was all Rodgers needed to give Crosby a chance. For anyone who will say Crosby didn’t deserve a chance after what happened in the Motor City, old No. 2 proved them wrong. The man with some of the biggest kicks in modern Packers history was a hero once again Monday night. It must have been the extra day.
Patriots wanted to trade Rob Gronkowski to the Lions. He threatened to retire instead. A new report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter paints an image of what the Detroit Lions could have had—a superstar tight end that would have changed how everyone looked at this roster. Unfortunately Devon Kennard Jersey , that star would have called it quits rather than play for Detroit. The New England Patriots looked at their superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski as a potential trade offer to the Lions. After their Super Bowl defeat, Gronk had shown hesitation to return for next season. For the Lions it was a chance to fill a position with little talent on their own roster. However, upon learning of the trade plans, Gronkowksi refused to entertain the notion. He threatened to retire rather than play for Detroit, and declined to answer phone calls from the Lions organization. This was all in spite of the supposed Patriots organization ties in Detroit with general manager Bob Quinn and head coach Matt Patricia.Eventually, Gronkowski signed a new contract with the New England Patriots and returned to the team for the 2018 season. He is currently the receiving leader for the squadron with 138 yards.Schefter characterizes the talks between New England and Detroit as “deep into trade discussions,” so this was more than just an idea being floated, and Detroit did make overtures to reach towards Gronkowski itself. From the reports it was clear this was a real possibility until Gronkowski himself nixed the plans. It’s an old tale for the Lions as the image of playing for Detroit appears tarnished Isaac Nauta Detroit Lions Jersey , but it also could just be a matter in this case that Gronkowski wanted to stay in New England. Still, it can’t be a confidence-booster for this “Patriots Way” regime that they couldn’t pull off a trade, even with all their ties to Foxborough and visions for the future.UPDATE 9/23/18: Adam Schefter clarified his report on Twitter, adding that it was a matter that Gronkowski didn’t want to leave the Patriots, rather than he didn’t want to play for Detroit. In addition, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport made similar observations as well, citing that the tight end wanted to only play for New England quarterback Tom Brady: It’s no surprise that Matthew Stafford has seen a pretty significant uptick in criticism over the Detroit Lions’ current three-game losing streak. The Lions have only scored a total of two touchdowns in the first halves of those games combined, and Stafford’s play has looked downright ugly at times. Over that three game stretch Isaac Nauta Jersey 2019 , he’s completed just 65.3 percent of his passes for 6.6 yards per attempt, four touchdowns and three interceptions. That’s a passer rating of just 84.8 (26th) and a PFF grade of 52.5 (28th).But head coach Matt Patricia’s support for his quarterback is unwavering. Patricia says he doesn’t hear the outside criticism from fans and media, and he has the utmost confidence in his quarterback.“We’re blessed to have him as our quarterback. We’re lucky to have him as our quarterback,” Patricia said. “This is a guy that’s extremely tough, he’s extremely competitive, a guy that works harder than anyone in the building every single day to get better.”Patricia admits that he’s identified some issues in Stafford’s game over the Lions’ past few weeks, but credits a string of tough defenses and other surrounding factors as the bigger part of the problem.“It’s not really just one thing, it’s been a multitude of different things through the course of the past couple games that have been an issue Color Rush Isaac Nauta Jersey ,” Patricia said, adding that he wasn’t going to get into details. “I’m not going to give you specific details, because there are other people that listen to this stuff. They’re watching the tape, let them figure it out for themselves.” Obviously, there are surrounding issues that have affected Stafford’s play. He’s incurred 16 sacks in the past two games, and his receivers are struggling to find separation. Unfortunately for Detroit and Stafford, the road doesn’t get much easier ahead. Their next three opponents—the Panthers, Bears and Rams—all have some extremely talented defensive players that have given the Lions’ fits in the past. Still Cheap Isaac Nauta Jersey , Patricia is confident in a future with Matthew Stafford.“He’s a great quarterback, he works extremely hard. He’s our leader on offense, and we’re going to keep pushing and he’s going to keep leading, which is great for us.”

A good mix of veterans and first/second-year players gave Cincinnati a playmaking secondary that attempted to carry the rest of the unit when it faltered. A couple key moves sparked the formation of this group, and a few more are needed to maintain stability and enhance it even further than where it is now.Key players:William JacksonDre KirkpatrickDarqueze DennardShawn WilliamsJessie BatesClayton Fejedelem2019 potential free agents:Darqueze Dennard2018 SummaryAfter what would have been a breakout season in 2017 (if the national media paid attention to the Bengals) Williams Jackson took a step back in 2018. Coaching changes on the defensive side of the ball likely played a role in this, as former defensive coordinator Teryl Austin seemed to have a negative impact on the production of just about everyone around him. Dre Kirkpatrick had his ups and downs, but was at least serviceable opposite Jackson. Darqueze Dennard continued to play well in the slot corner position and saw a drop off when pushed to the outside. KeiVarae Russell and rookie Darius Phillips both were impressive when injuries to other players gave them a chance to compete. After drafting Jessie Bates in the 2nd round, the Bengals were so confident in him that they were able to move on from veteran George Iloka before the season began. This was a bit of a surprise, but once Bates took the field, there was little doubt that it was the right decision. Around the middle of the season, there was a legitimate argument for Bates as the defensive rookie of the year. Players like Minkah Fitzpatrick and Derwin James have some unique qualities that will serve them well in the NFL, but Bates was the best pure free safety from the 2018 NFL Draft class. This gave the Bengals something they desperately needed defensively. Bates was not just impressive for a rookie, but seems to be on track to establish himself as one of the leagues best. Opposite him is veteran Shawn Williams, who is more of a rock-down player. Williams continued to play at a high level in 2018. Clayton Fejedelem looked impressive when called upon to fill in at the safety position. He seems to have a knack for always being around the football.2019 Outlook and NeedJackson needs to take a step forward in 2019, make his pet pig Annabelle proud, and establish himself as one of the leagues top cornerbacks. Many fans love to hate on Kirkpatrick, but he is a decent No. 2 cornerback in the NFL. For what he’s getting paid, you’d like for him to be more consistent, but this is where we’re at. The trouble with Kirkpatrick is that his let-downs tend to be exposed and come at the worst possible times. With Jackson and Kirkpatrick, the Bengals do not have an Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters kind of duo, but they have a good pair. Think about it like this: Kirkpatrick is easily top 50 in the league at his position. With 32 teams in the league Renell Wren Cincinnati Bengals Jersey , cornerbacks ranked 33-48 would be in the top half of No. 2 cornerbacks. An upgrade would be great, but he is nowhere near the top of their list of problems. The Bengals have historically kept their cornerbacks on one side of the field and very rarely allowed Jackson to shadow a team’s best receiver. This has to change under defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, who was most recently a defensive backs coach. It is not even necessarily about the best player, but the best matchup. People talk all the time about matchups offensively, but defenses can dictate them as well. Kirkpatrick can cover bigger receivers well, but is not great against smaller, shiftier guys. Freeing Jackson and Kirkpatrick to follow an optimal matchup would allow the Bengals to get the most out of them.Dennard has been very good in the nickel corner role, but will soon enter free agency if the Bengals don’t re-sign him. If he enters the market, it is likely that the Bengals will not be able to get him back. The Bengals definitely should not want to overpay for Dennard, and it may be good for them to find someone who can defend more shifty slot receivers more effectively. Phillips could definitely fit the bill there, and fellow rookie Davontae Harris (who missed most of 2018 with injury) also has the skill set to play in the slot. Having said that, it is important to remember that in today’s NFL, nickel defense is base defense. This is a starter in the secondary, and a new staff putting their faith in a second-year player who has seen limited action would be a mistake. They would be wise to acquire a veteran at the position, or used an early to mid-round pick on a slot corner. The Bengals should feel pretty good about the safety position. Bates had an impressive rookie year with three interceptions and with continued growth could become one of the league’s best. Williams has been very good for the past couple of seasons as well, although this has been overlooked by many. Fejedelem is a good backup and situational player, but the Bengals could afford to add additional depth to the position, CARSON, Calif. (AP) — Jeff Driskel ran away from Chargers star Joey Bosa, scrambled past a linebacker and dived into the end zone to cap a thrilling effort by the Cincinnati Bengals‘ young quarterback.Except the officials took the touchdown off the board after video review in accordance with this season's NFL rule that equates a quarterback's dive with a slide to protect passers.Driskel didn't realize the rule had changed, and he didn't want the protection. "No Renell Wren Jersey 2019 , I was not giving myself up," Driskel said. The Bengals (5-8) aren't giving up on their tumultuous season either, and their effort reflected it during their fifth consecutive loss, 26-21 to Los Angeles on Sunday.Cincinnati held the Chargers' powerful offense to 288 yards and two touchdowns, keeping it out of the end zone entirely after Los Angeles' first two drives. The Bengals never led, yet they outgained the Bolts and had two chances to tie the game with 2-point conversions, including a final shot with 1:54 to play. But Cincinnati still had just enough mishaps — some with the rulebook, others with its headsets, still others with aggressive play calling that didn't quite work out — to fall just short of knocking off one of the NFL's top teams on the road.Bengals coach Marvin Lewis was sweaty and frustrated after watching his players barely miss out on a win that could have energized them down the stretch. Instead, Cincinnati fell into last place in the AFC North with its seventh loss in eight games, and Lewis' crew must win out just to finish at .500 after a 4-1 start."Well, the team needs to win, so that's the only progress that really counts, is winning," said Lewis, whose team is on its third losing streak of five games or more during his 16 seasons in charge. "We've got guys playing big-time football, and we've got to make sure we're playing it all the time."Lewis shrugged off the notion of a moral victory with 14 players on injured reserve, but Cincinnati hung with the Chargers without quarterback Andy Dalton, receiver A.J. Green and linebacker Vontaze Burfict, among others. After going 17 of 28 for 170 yards in his second career start, Driskel was frustrated to be denied his third rushing touchdown. On the ensuing fourth-and-inches Renell Wren Jersey Mens , guard Alex Redmond committed a false start, forcing Cincinnati to kick a field goal."The whole philosophy behind it is to continue to give (the quarterback) protection as he slides forward, just like he used to do when he slid feet-first," referee John Hussey said.Driskel was disappointed with the ruling, even after a game in which Lewis called his overall play "career changing.""Obviously that's within the rulebook, and however that's interpreted," Driskel said. "But if that's how it's interpreted, I've got to find a way to get in there some other way."Driskel hit John Ross with a TD pass with 20 seconds left in the first half to make it 14-12, and Lewis aggressively called for a 2-point conversion — but it failed when Driskel couldn't hit Giovani Bernard. That point would have been handy late in the fourth quarter when the Bengals could have trailed by seven instead of eight. The Chargers got the ball to midfield with 1 second left in the first half to attempt a Hail Mary, but Jordan Willis inexplicably jumped offside, allowing Michael Badgley to kick a 59-yard field goal at the gun."It's very frustrating," Bengals safety Jessie Bates said. "It's as simple as staying onside. It's what we learned since the first time we played football. It's disappointing that we keep having the same thing come up. It costs us points as well."Cincinnati went on fourth-and-1 from its 35 on the opening drive of the second half, but Joe Mixon got stuffed and the Bolts kicked another field goal. Center Billy Price then committed a false start on fourth down in Chargers territory later in the third quarter.Driskel drove the Bengals 79 yards in the waning minutes for Mixon's TD. They went for two again, and Driskel had time to make a throw — but everyone was covered, and Los Angeles' Darius Philon sacked him.Cincinnati then botched an onside kick that didn't even go the required 10 yards, and the Bengals headed home to regroup for their final home game of the season against Oakland. The Bengals even had problems with their communication headsets in the first half. The offense managed to get its plays in by hand, but the defense sometimes had to wing it, according to linebacker Nick Vigil."That led a little bit to some of our demise, I think," Lewis said. "The first half was ridiculous. I've not been in an NFL game where that's been an issue like it was today."

As the NFL free agency period starts, a crowded safety group means there will be a lot of possible solutions to the Carolina Panthers’ questions."WhiteFanposts Fanshots Sections Keep Sounding PodcastPanthers 2019 NFL DraftCSR Film RoomCarolina Panthers free agency 2019The free agent market is loaded at safety this offseasonNew,106commentsAs the NFL free agency period starts DJ Moore Jersey For Sale , a crowded safety group means there will be a lot of possible solutions to the Carolina Panthers’ questions.ESTShareTweetShareShareThe free agent market is loaded at safety this offseasonKirby Lee-USA TODAY SportsThe Panthers re-signed Eric Reid in the offseason to a contract averaging $7 million per year, addressing their strong safety need before free agency and the draft. However, with Mike Adams and Colin Jones departing, only Rashaan Gaulden and Da’Norris Searcy remain to start opposite him. It is somewhat likely that the team feels these guys could be feasible in 2019, however the 2018 season showed that Carolina’s approach to the safety position doesn’t work so well without elite front seven play. Addressing that and completely turning it around could be a major challenge to do in one offseason, so addressing the free safety position would make a lot of sense. Let’s break down the free agency class to see what’s realistic, and what isn’t.The pipe dreamsEarl Thomas: Despite coming off a season ending injury in 2018, Earl Thomas is still widely considered one of the best free safeties in the NFL. He’s a game changer, and on the open market he should warrant a mostly guaranteed one-two year deal that will still pay him up in the top as far as annual salary goes. The Panthers can’t afford this unless Marty Hurney can get really creative.Landon Collins: Collins is coming off a year where he was at worst in the conversation for defensive player of the year. Collins is going to reset the safety market, and Carolina doesn’t have the money.Lamarcus Joyner: After coming off the franchise tag as a versatile defensive back for the Super Bowl runner-up Los Angeles Rams, Joyner is looking to get paid this offseason. A player like him who can play both safety positions and have value in the slot is going to get paid on the open market by a team with bonkers cap space. The short term guysEric Weddle: Weddle was cut by the Baltimore Ravens following a good 2018 season. Weddle is 34, and likely looking for his last NFL contract. Due to his familiarity with Ron Rivera DJ Moore Jersey On Sale , he could be an excellent fit in Carolina’s supposedly multi-front system in 2019. The issue would be how much he thinks he’s worth after being cut from a $7.5 million deal in the 2018 season.Glover Quin: At 33, Quin hits the market as another veteran likely on his last contract in the NFL. Quin has experience as a free safety, therefore a team like Carolina should be interested in him. The wear and tear certainly is there, but the Panthers have made it work in the past with primarily strong safety type players at both positions. With a sub $5 million cap hit in 2018, his services could be had for around the same price... hopefully?George Iloka: Iloka is coming off an $880k contract with the Vikings, however he barely played in 2018. He likely enters free agency looking for a prove it deal to show he’s still got some mileage left. He’s more of a question mark than most who would be looking for a short term deal, but Carolina may be willing to pull the trigger to let him fight it out with Da’Norris Searcy and Rashaan Gaulden for playing time.Tre Boston: Boston again took a one year prove it deal in 2018 with the Cardinals, and didn’t really prove he deserves upper tier safety money. With a crowded safety market, he could be looking for another prove it deal with potentially more incentives. Could a return to Charlotte be in the cards? The surprisesAs much as I’ve personally advocated for Carolina to address the safety position, I’m not sure if they will sink significant capital into the opposite starter with some of the other names on the market. Adrian Amos, Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix, Tyrann Matthieu DJ Moore Jersey Sale , and Adrian Phillips likely will receive higher offers that will look inflated compared to average safety contracts out there. That is the nature of free agency. However, there’s a chance Carolina structures a contract in the way they did for Bashaud Breeland in 2018 (before he failed his physical) which gives them significant cap flexibility over the span of the deal. I wouldn’t bet money on it myself, but addressing the safety position long term at least gives them the ability to really go after the front seven in the draft. My pickI think the Panthers will sign Eric Weddle. Ron Rivera knows how to use him, and as I’ve said he has experience in 3-4 and 4-3 defenses. Weddle can play both safety positions, and would be a fine addition opposite Eric Reid. The Panthers don’t really use a traditional strong and free safety, as their assignments generally change throughout the game. However, with Weddle’s flexibility and experience he could be an excellent short term answer while the Panthers sift through the draft for a better one in the long term.Weddle showed he is still one of the better safeties in the NFL, and it would give Carolina time to develop Gaulden if they truly believe he is going to be a safety. The signing makes sense, though they’d have to make some cap moves to make it happen.stares at Torrey SmithWho would you like to see the Panthers sign, Panthers fans?

Hurst finished the season playing less than a quarter of the Ravens’ offensive snaps and caught just 13 passes. So it’s not surprising that Hurst isn’t giving himself an A+ for his first season.“For me, I think it was just average,” Hurst told . “I give myself a C. Dale Zanine-USA TODAY SportsImagine how Jermaine Grace felt when the Falcons told him he made their 53 man roster in 2017. Elated? Check. Redeemed? Check. Victorious? Emphatic check. Because let’s be honest, but for some off the field issues at the University of Miami, Grace could’ve been selected on the second day of the draft. Instead his collegiate career came to an abrupt end and he was left to wonder whether his dream of playing in the NFL was still in the cards. Grace had a choice to make: try to get reinstated or try to go pro. He chose the latter, trusting that he had what it took to make that leap.I remember the 2017 preseason well. There was a sense that the Falcons had lucked upon a diamond in the rough in Grace. The Falcons simply couldn’t afford to try to let him clear waivers. Unfortunately, just like a lot of camp standouts that find themselves on NFL rosters, Grace found himself on the outside looking in as he sought to secure playing time and the Falcons released him after five games. After stops with the Colts, Browns, and Seahawks, Grace earned a second chance with the Falcons in 2018, landing back on their practice squad in October and earning a futures contract in December. Grace’s predicament now is figuring out how to stand out in a crowded linebacker corps. Deion Jones, De’Vondre Campbell, and Foyesade Oluokun are penciled in as the starters. And Bruce Carter, Duke Riley, Kemal Ishmael, and UDFA Tre’ Crawford are all in the mix as backups. OTAs just kicked off Monday Vic Beasley Jr Jersey 2019 , and a lot can change between now and the end of August, but Grace’s path forward, while not blocked, is littered with obstacles. Grace has put on approximately 15 pounds over the last two years. He came into the league looking like a strong safety and now he’s got a true linebacker build. And effort is certain to be a non-issue, given Grace’s uncanny knack for drawing attention from NFL teams over the last two seasons. One would think this is a true competition, and if I were Carter or Ishmael, I’d have my head on a swivel. Grace has youth on his side. (He’s three years younger than Ishmael and six years younger than Carter.) Plus we know head coach Dan Quinn has zeroed in on safety depth this off-season, so if Grace can show the coaching staff his versatility, that only increases his chances. In short, Grace is going to have every opportunity to make this team again in 2019. Given his youth, versatility, and talent, he may even find an easier path to playing time this time around. He needs to be a true standout on special teams and find a way to eclipse a couple other members of the linebacker corps. If he does that, a spot on the 53 man roster awaits. Your thoughts, Falcoholics? PITTSBURGH (AP) — Bill Fralic Black Alex Mack Jersey , the burly, bruising and athletic offensive lineman who starred for the Atlanta Falcons and was a three-time All-American at Pittsburgh, has died. He was 56.He had cancer and died Thursday at his home in suburban Atlanta, the university said.Fralic was the first offensive lineman to finish in the top 10 in Heisman Trophy balloting — finishing eighth in 1983 and sixth in 1984. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1998. The school retired his No. 79 at halftime of his final home game in 1984. Pitt made Fralic part of its inaugural Athletics Hall of Fame in 2017, a class that included former teammate and Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino."Bill Fralic is the best," Joe Moore, who worked as Pitt's offensive line coach during Fralic's career, once said. "If you can find somebody better, bring him to me. I've been privileged to coach some good ones here, but none better than Bill Fralic. Those kind only pass through once."Atlanta selected Fralic with the second overall pick in the 1985 draft. He spent nine seasons in the league, including eight as one of the few bright spots during a difficult period for the Falcons. He was named to the Pro Bowl four times and earned All-Pro honors in 1986 and 1987. The NFL placed him on its All-Decade Team for the 1980s even though Atlanta struggled during much of his career. The Falcons went 27-67-1 during Fralic's first six seasons before finally reaching the playoffs in 1991.Current Atlanta owner Arthur Blank called Fralic a "cornerstone" of the franchise, adding "he was a beloved Falcon, and we will always be grateful for the impact he made here in Atlanta."Fralic attempted to serve as a whistleblower against what he considered rampant steroid use in the NFL. In 1989 he told the U.S. Senate Judiciary committee that "steroid use in football represents a vicious cycle" and estimated that 75 percent of offensive and defensive linemen and tight ends used the performance-enhancing drug. Former Vice President Joe Biden, then chairman of the committee, lauded Fralic's candor. It was just another area of Fralic's life where he stood out."Our football fraternity lost a great one Alex Mack Jersey 2019 ," tweeted former NFL defensive lineman Tony Casillas, a teammate of Fralic's from 1986-89 before later facing Fralic while playing for Dallas. "I had so much respect for this man."Fralic grew up in suburban Pittsburgh, starring at Penn Hill High School before joining the hometown Panthers. Fralic never forgot his roots, footing the hotel bill for the Penn Hills football team last week when the Indians traveled to Hershey, Pennsylvania, to play in the Class 5 A state title game, which they won."Bill Fralic was not only an all-time player at the University of Pittsburgh, but also an all-time human being," Pitt football coach Pat Narduzzi said. "His generosity, support and concern for others was unmatched. For as hulking a figure as he was, Billy was even larger in his kindness and passion for others."FOX Fantasy AutoForm a Racing Team, Compete for PrizesPlay Now!
A look at what potential trade back could cost."Much has been made of what to do with the first overall Black Sam Bradford Jersey , and naturally so. While most of the debate has centered around Kyler Murray versus a defensive stalwart like Nick Bosa or Quinnen Williams, a large majority of our community vie for a trade back. And while I personally disagree with the notion, (at least as the current draft order stands) it’s not nonsensical. This roster was arguably the worst in the league, and if not it was among them. There are plenty of holes that need patching, why not accrue more capital to spend on plugging the multitude of holes in the roster? The popular target for a trade back centers around the Oakland Raiders. Not only do they have a large mass of draft picks, but it would still, in theory, allow the Cardinals to retain a top four pick. But what else would Arizona fetch in return? The 24th selection? The 27th? 35th? All of the above or a combination of them? I’d hate to burst your bubble, folks. But if the past sets any precedence, #1 isn’t going to fare such a rich return. To determine so, we’ll take a look at the only move in modern history that sets a precedence for this situation; The Rams and their move up for Jared Goff. When the Rams had their target set on trading up with the Titans for the 1st overall selection in 2016, they brought with them the 15th, 43rd, 45th, and 76th selection in that draft. As well as their first and third round selections for the following draft in 2017. (Those wound up being the 5th and 100th overall.) In return, the Rams received the 1st, 113th, and 177th overall picks. Now, should we consult the classic Jimmy Johnson trade value chart to assign values to these moves it would shake out a little like so:Titans get: 15th (1050 points) - 43rd (470 points) - 45th (450 points) - 76th (210 points)’17 First - This is where things get weird. It is generally said that future picks hold half the value of the present year. But obviously, the Titans couldn’t know exactly where the Rams would finish. Even if it was a safe bet that it would become a high pick. For this exercise we’ll assign the average value of the a first round selection (Roughly 1117 points) and cut that in half, and we get 558 points.’17 Third - Same for this pick, we get roughly 87 points.Rams get: 1st (3000 points) - 113th (68 points) - 77th (20.2 points)All that adds up to the Titans being on the wrong end of this deal, to a tune of about 263 points - just about an 8 percent loss, or roughly the cost of the 65th overall. Now it’s important to remember these points aren’t perfect numbers that reflect the value of the transaction, but it is interesting to note that the Titans technically lost value according to the trade chart. BUT if we assign the ultimate values to the future picks that the Titans received, they come out on top, for a point total of 3980. Ultimately, their gamble paid off.Next, I also wanted to cross check these values against Rich Hill’s more modern version of the trade chart from our friends over at Pats Pulpit. Note, Rich himself states that future picks don’t have a perfect value in this model as well. The totals come out to 794.42 points for the picks the Titans received, and 1033.49 for the haul the Rams received. Another loss, this time to the tune of 239.07 points for a 23% loss, nearly the value of the 24th overall. Even if I were to bake in the value of what the 2017 future selections ended up being, it still comes out in favor of the Rams. This time at 208.51 points. (-20% loss Cheap Byron Murphy Jersey , or just shy of the 28th overall’s value.)What does this mean for Arizona in a hypothetical trade with Oakland? Well, we’ve established that at present value, they’re likely taking a loss on the total value of their draft picks.Using Jimmy Johnson’s chart in a straight up deal involving only draft picks, and baking in an 8% loss on points, things shake out like so: Incoming Picks per Jimmy Johnson’s Trade ValuesAZOAKAZOAKNot awful, but certainly not to the lofty expectations of Cardinals fans.Using Hill’s chart, we’ll also apply the same loss of value relative to this chart, though to be a little generous we’ll calculate it as the 20% loss versus the 23% the Titans actually took.Incoming Picks (Rich Hill Version.)AZOAKAZOAKI know some out there are hopeful for some combination of three of Oakland’s first four picks, but adding things up through both these charts paint a different picture. It’s not an awful deal, but you are gambling on future picks landing in a favorable position (Which can backfire, as demonstrated by our potential trade partner and their current picks.) and an ideal candidate making it to the fourth overall spot. **cough**quinnen**cough**This isn’t all to say that the charts are absolute. It’s important to remember that this isn’t an exact predictor of what could be, rather a general approximation. But a safe assumption of the values nonetheless. What do you think? Is a potential trade back worth either of the hauls listed in the two scenarios, or do you find it preferable to dictate the draft from the top spot? The Cardinals seem about done with free agency (for now). With the draft up next, how is the Cardinals 2019 roster looking at this point?"With free agency mostly in the rearview and the NFL draft on the horizon, the 2019 Arizona Cardinals are starting come into focus. It’s not necessarily a pretty picture—as should be expected for a team in the midst of a rebuild—but the overall shape of the team is starting to become more clear. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the how the Redbirds’ depth chart is shaping up under new coach Kliff Kingsbury, focusing mostly on the starters. Does the roster look stronger than last year’s 3-13 team? What holes are there still to fill in the starting lineup? Let’s take a look, starting with the offense.OffenseQuarterbacksStarter: Josh Rosen/Kyler MurrayNotable Depth: Brett Hundley, Charles KanoffObviously, the main question about the roster as a whole is who will be behind center for the team in Week 1. The team is still publicly backing Josh Rosen, but there continues to be a ton of smoke about the possibility of drafting Kyler Murray. We won’t try to answer the QB question here, but regardless of whether Rosen or Murray is the Cardinals’ QB in 2019, it will be another year of development at the position—and for the team as a whole.Running BackStarter: David JohnsonNotable Depth: Chase Edmonds, T.J. Logan, D.J. FosterThe depth chart is settled here—DJ is the guy, and Edmonds will see the scraps. (Unless Kingsbury plans to integrate him into the offense a bit more?) But it would be no surprise to see the team use a late-round draft pick or sign a UDFA to compete with the likes of Logan and Foster for a roster spot. As far as fullback goes, it sure doesn’t seem like Kingsbury is planning on using one, so we’ll ignore that position for now.Wide ReceiverStarters: Larry Fitzgerald (WR1), Christian Kirk (WR2), TBD (WR3)Notable Depth: Kevin White, Chad Williams, Trent Sherfield, Damiere and (hopefully) in the red zone. But most fans and pundits expect the team to spend a mid-round pick on a tight end in the draft—a must, given that both Clay and RSJ are on 1-year deals.Offensive LineStarters: D.J. Humphries (LT) Zach Allen Arizona Cardinals Jersey , Justin Pugh (LG), Mason Cole (C), J.R. Sweezy (RG), Marcus Gilbert (RT)Notable Depth: Korey Cunningham, Max Garcia, A.Q. Shipley, Jeremy Vujnovich, Will HoldenKeim will likely fortify the youth/depth along the O-line in the draft, but the starters seem set (for 2019 at least). If everyone could stay healthy, this would have a chance to be a league-average O-line—a monumental improvement from last year’s god-awful unit. Of course, everyone but Cole has durability questions, so our depth will almost certainly be tested once again in 2019. Perhaps a more important question than that though: Who will be our tackles in 2020?DefenseDefensive LineStarters: Darius Philon (DE), Corey Peters (DT), TBD (DE)Notable Depth: Robert Nkemdiche (injured), Pasoni Tasini, Vincent Valentine, Cameron MalveauxAlong with WR, the D-line is in biggest need of attention in the draft and beyond. Philon was a nice pickup, but we still need a second starter at DE (especially since you can’t really expect anything from Diche in 2019), and the depth guys are all JAGs. Expect multiple draft picks to be spent along the D-line—Quinnen Williams would look good in Cardinals red, don’t you think?—as well as a bargain free agent. The current group isn’t going to have a prayer at stopping the running attacks of the Rams or Seahawks without reinforcements.LinebackerStarters: Chandler Jones (OLB), Jordan Hicks (ILB), Haason Reddick (ILB), Terrell Suggs (OLB)Notable Depth: Brooks Reed, Vontarrius Dora, Zeke Turner, Tanner VallejoThe starters look like a strong group with Reed likely to split time with Suggs—this is a drastically improved group from last season. But the depth is a real question here, especially at OLB. It seems like we’re still a pass rusher short, and we’re very green inside if (when?) Hicks were to miss time. I don’t think we need to do much at ILB (especially given guys like Dennis Gardeck and Joe Walker are further down the depth chart), but Keim should have his eye on at least one pass rusher in the draft—preferably before Day 3.Defensive BackStarters: Patrick Peterson (CB1), D.J. Swearinger (SS), Budda Baker (FS), Robert Alford (CB2), TBD (CB3)Notable Depth: David Amerson Cheap Zach Allen Jersey , Josh Shaw, Rudy Ford, Jonathan OwensThis looks like every Cardinals’ DB depth chart since 2011—lockdown CB1, questionable CB2, strong safeties, questionable depth. I don’t think Alford solves our CB2 problem, I don’t love any of our CB3 options (Amerson or Shaw? Deatrick Nichols?), and another safety wouldn’t be a bad idea. Still, we can get by with this group for 2019—but investing in a young corner with a mid-round pick would make me feel better about 2020.Special TeamsStarters: Zane Gonzalez (K), Andy Lee (P), Aaron Brewer (LS), Pharoh Cooper (PR), T.J. Logan (KR)Special teams were a much-improved unit in 2018 and should continue to be solid in 2019. Lee is one of the best punters in the game, and Gonzalez will be better than Phil Dawson almost by default. If we could get a little more out of our return game, it would be a boon. Can Cooper return to his Pro Bowl form? Can Logan make a mark? Kirk and Peterson also figure to be in the picture at PR, as usual. Maybe Byrd sees some reps? (Assuming he makes the regular season roster.)Final ThoughtsBy my count, we still have three “starting” positions that need to be filled—DE, WR3, and CB3. None of the options currently on the roster is particularly appetizing, so Keim will need to fill those holes in the draft or in the second wave of free agency. There are also several positions in need of depth. And there is, of course, the ever-looming question about what we do with the #1 overall pick—and who our QB will be.But even with those question marks, the 2019 edition of the Arizona Cardinals is starting to take shape. It鈥?it looks a lot like last year’s edition, to be honest. Stopgap solutions at key positions (OT, CB2), uninspiring free agent signings, major question marks on offense.Still, I think we’re in better shape than we were heading into last season. We have a coach people are excited about, we’re switching back to the 3-4 that’s been our bread and butter on defense, and we’ll have a young QB ready to make a leap—whomever it winds up being. It’s hard to imagine this group approaching .500, but I think we’ll be innovative and scrappy enough to avoid another 3-13 disaster. Here’s hoping, anyway. What are your thoughts on this roster going into the draft, Redbirds fans? What strengths or weaknesses do you see? Give us your evaluation in the comments!

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals might just be the antidote for what’s ailing the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams (11-3) are the NFL West champions again Christian Kirk Womens Jersey , and have the NFC’s second-best record behind New Orleans (12-2). But Los Angeles has lost two in a row, 15-6 at Chicago and, last week, 30-23 to Philadelphia. So the Cardinals (3-11), 1-6 at home and at the bottom of the NFL standings under first-year coach Steve Wilks, would seem a welcome opponent when the teams square off Sunday in Arizona’s final home game of its difficult season.Of course, Rams coach Sean McVay would never say that even if he thought it was true.“That’s certainly not our attitude,” he said. “Our attitude is that we have a lot of respect for this football team and for coach Wilks, and we’ve got to be ready to go. There’s a lot of great players on both sides – proven, high-caliber players, some Hall of Fame players Youth Christian Kirk Jersey , perennial Pro Bowl players. We’ve got to be ready to go.”The Cardinals were gashed for a season-worst 215 yards on the ground in their 40-14 blowout loss at Atlanta last week. The could mean a big day for Todd Gurley, if he’s healthy. McVay indicated on Wednesday he expected his prolific running back to play after being limited by knee inflammation this week.“We expect that if he progresses the way that we anticipate, that he’ll be ready to go,” McVay said.Gurley didn’t have a big day statistically but ran for three touchdowns in Los Angeles’ 34-0 home rout of Arizona in Week 2.Jared Goff threw for 354 yards in that game, but is going through a rough stretch. In the last three games, he’s thrown for one touchdown and been intercepted six times.“I think each game is independent of each other,” he said. “I don’t think there’s one singular thing. Look at last game, made a couple dumb plays that hurt us and you can’t do that.”The Rams are two-touchdown favorites. Here are some things to consider about the game:FITZGERALD’S FINALEThis might be Larry Fitzgerald’s final home game of his spectacular 15-year NFL career. Then again, it might not.Fitzgerald, as is his custom, was not at all forthcoming on the subject of his retirement when the subject was broachedThursday.“If I decide to retire Christian Kirk Men Jersey , I’ll let you guys know, seriously,” he said. “So I don’t know why we keep asking these questions. You know me. I’ve been answering for the last three years. Nothing’s going to change.”In other words, when he decides, he’ll let everyone know.Fitzgerald has caught a pass in 226 consecutive games and recently passed Jerry Rice’s record for most catches with one team. With a TD catch on Sunday, he’d have 19 in his career against the Rams. Only Rice has more against a single team, 25 against Atlanta and 20 against the Rams.GOFF’S CONFIDENCEGoff said he thought that toward the end of the Philadelphia game, the Rams got back to being themselves on offense.“I felt like we moved the ball really well and we were able to build off some things there and able to kind of take what the defense was giving us,” he said. “I felt like I learned a lot in the last game and was able to grow.”Goff said it’s not that defenses are figuring them out.“I think it always comes back to us, just doing what we do — executing,” he said. “Defenses are going to present different looks every game and that’s no excuse. It happens every game. It’s happened every game we’ve played this year. So Color Rush Christian Kirk Jersey , it just comes down to us executing and being our best and just really focusing on the details.”RAM BACKSWith Gurley’s status a bit shaky, the Rams signed veteran running back C.J. Anderson this week.Even if Gurley plays, there could be some action for Anderson.“Could really see him playing a role this week,” McVay said, “very sharp, cerebral player. He’s played in some systems very similar in terms of the verbiage, some of the things we try to emphasize specific to the running game and in protection.”PHAROH SWITCHReturn specialist and wide receiver Pharoh Cooper went from a Super Bowl contender to a leading candidate for the No. 1 draft pick this week when he was waived by Los Angeles and claimed by the Cardinals.“It’s going to be great to see all those guys,” he said of facing the Rams so soon. “I’ve built so many relationships with them. That’s still family over there, but at the end of the day I play for the Cardinals now.”HOLIDAY SACKSArizona defensive end Chandler Jones is donating $20,000 for every sack he gets in the final two games — against the Rams and Seattle — to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. He has 5 1-2 career sacks against Los Angeles and 8 1-2 against the Seahawks.

The Falcons can get some breathing room if they finally work out new deals with Grady Jarrett and Julio Jones, two players currently taking up nearly $29 million in cap space. Extensions will offset small base salaries early in those deals with prorated signing bonuses, meaning cap space! After any move, the Falcons can pick over the cheap remains of free agency. Similar to a grocery store putting out soon-to-expire food at half price, the Falcons can snag a Ndamukong Suh that is almost as good as a top-shelf Sheldon Richardson. Here’s my favorite remaining players the Falcons may be able to snag at a discount.Ndamukong Suh It is surprising to see Suh still available Black Vic Beasley Jr Jersey , but thanks to his age and perhaps underwhelming stats have him unemployed. At age 32, Suh is still a force that would start at nose tackle and open up more for Grady Jarrett. If you wonder how Aaron Donald had 20.5 sacks in 2018 (other than it being Aaron Donald and he cannot be stopped), it was Suh putting in work in the middle. He should be much cheaper than his $14 million deal last year.Ezekiel AnsahAnsah hasn’t played a full season since 2015 and reportedly has interested teams looking at his bum shoulder. Some good news came our way today, as the Falcons announced they have exercised the fifth-year option for the 2016 first-round pick Black Alex Mack Jersey , keeping him through at least 2020. After being a surprise pick (for most people) during the 2016 NFL Draft, Neal has quickly gained the reputation of being one of the hardest hitting safeties in the league. In 2019, Neal tore his ACL in the Falcons’ season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles which sent him to injured reserve. It appears, though, that Keanu Neal is on track to return to the Falcons for the 2019 season, and knowing he’ll be around through at least 2020 should make Falcons fans everywhere happy today.

Then the Baltimore Ravens well-bearded safety did a little dance and made a proclamation."I told you Lamar Jackson Womens Jersey ," Weddle said. "These ain't the same Ravens."After two years and two painful near misses, he might be right. Baltimore can win in Pittsburgh again, fueling confidence the Ravens can win anywhere. The proof came in a cruelly efficient 26-14 victory over their AFC North rivals on Sunday night that looked an awful lot like how it used to look when Baltimore had it going earlier in head coach John Harbaugh's tenure.Joe Flacco threw for a 363 yards and a pair of scores. Justin Tucker kicked four second-half field goals. Baltimore's defense did the rest, keeping Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown under wraps over the final 30 minutes as the Ravens (3-1) ended a three-game losing streak to the Steelers (1-2-1)."You can't become a true Raven until you win in Pittsburgh," Weddle said. "I've officially become a Raven. What a great team win."Pittsburgh managed just 47 yards in the second half, sputtering in a place the Steelers have so often soared. Not this time. Not on a night they converted just 2 of 12 third downs and didn't take a snap in Baltimore territory after halftime."I just didn't make enough plays, point blank," Roethlisberger said. "I'll take ownership on this game. Squarely on me."Two years ago, the Ravens fell on Brown's "Immaculate Extension" on Christmas night. Last winter Youth Lamar Jackson Jersey , Baltimore scored 38 at Heinz Field ... and got beat on a field goal in the final minute. Those memories have been hard to shake."I think it was all in the back of our heads," Weddle said. "The way we've lost here has not been fun."Maybe that's what made this one a little sweeter than most. Even Harbaugh admitted this wasn't just another opponent and this wasn't just another victory, answering loudly "yes it does" when asked if there was a different vibe this time around. The Steelers (1-2-1) came in having won nine straight Sunday night appearances. Baltimore brought Pittsburgh's run to an abrupt end. Roethlisberger finished 27 of 47 for 274 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Steelers. Brown caught five passes for 62 yards, including his second touchdown pass in as many weeks.Yet Pittsburgh couldn't generate anything in the second half. The Steelers mustered three first downs after the break and there was no balance to be found. Pittsburgh ran the ball 11 times for 19 yards, the absence of All-Pro running back Le'Veon Bell 鈥?who has yet to sign his franchise tender 鈥?growing more acute by the week.Harbaugh awarded one of the game balls to the defense. Defensive coordinator Don Martindale accepted after putting together a plan that Weddle said had the Ravens a step ahead. It certainly looked that way. While Pittsburgh floundered, Flacco put together a string of clock-consuming possessions that ended with field goals by the ever reliable Tucker as Baltimore proved its strong start was no fluke.Harbaugh called Flacco's play "phenomenal." Flacco isn't quite ready to go that far. If anything, he was angry the two teams were tied at the half after Baltimore let an early 14-point lead get away."I really felt like we could have had 28, 30, 35 points out there at halftime Lamar Jackson Men Jersey ," Flacco said. "These guys and the way these games have been ... especially the last couple years, you don't want to leave points out there."The Steelers came in hoping the defense was slowly starting to find itself after forcing four turnovers last Monday night in Tampa during a victory Pittsburgh believed would resuscitate its season. Not quite.Flacco wasted little time helping Baltimore race to a 14-0 advantage. He found John Brown open on a 33-yard touchdown pass on Baltimore's opening possession. Brown was double covered when Flacco let the ball go. By the time Brown chased it down in the end zone, both Steelers were two steps behind him and the Ravens were in front.Three snaps later Baltimore had the ball back thanks to a strip by safety Tony Jefferson. It took the Ravens just four plays to go up two touchdowns, when Flacco flipped the ball in the flat to a wide-open Collins. The score marked the 13th straight red-zone trip by Baltimore that ended with a Ravens touchdown, the longest streak to start a season in NFL history.Baltimore's 14th red-zone trip ended up far differently and briefly swung momentum. The Ravens had the ball at the Pittsburgh 2 with a chance to move ahead three scores when Steelers free safety Sean Davis ripped the ball from Collins and Pittsburgh rookie strong safety Terrell Edmunds recovered.Pittsburgh put together a lengthy drive that resulted in a Chris Boswell field goal to get within 14-6. The Steelers tied it with 2:50 left in the first half on a pretty 26-yard back-shoulder throw by Roethlisberger to Brown in the end zone and the ensuing 2-point conversion grab by Conner.Baltimore, however, kept coming as Pittsburgh crumbled.UP NEXTRavens: Visit Cleveland next Sunday.Steelers: Host Atlanta next Sunday. Pittsburgh has won its last two meetings against the Falcons. This story has been corrected to update Baltimore's next opponent as Cleveland, not Tennessee. The Ravens rollercoaster season will continue with a trip to Tennessee, their third straight road game. Oddsmakers have installed Baltimore as field goal favorites in what is expected to be a defensive minded game with a 41-point total. This match could have postseason implications down the road Color Rush Lamar Jackson Jersey , as both teams sit at 3-2 in a crowded AFC.Most of the trends favor the Titans. They are 13-5 at home since 2016 while the Ravens are 7-11 on the road over the same period. Tennessee is also 4-1 in their last five games against the AFC North and the Ravens are recently 2-8 in October. After the Titans held off the Ravens 23-20 last season, the all-time series between these franchises is tied 11-to-11. Baltimore attempted 52 passes against Tennessee last November, but may prefer a run centric game plan because the Titans defense is statistically much better against the pass than the run. On the other side of the ball, the Ravens top scoring defense hopes to stifle Tennessee’s pedestrian offensive attack. In a grinding type of contest that will probably mirror their old AFC Central rivalry games, these three matchups should determine the outcome:RG Marshal Yanda vs DT Jurrell CaseyTwo of the best in the business at their respective positions. With three sacks and a pair of forced fumbles this season, the three-time Pro-Bowler Casey rates as Pro Football Focus’ #5 interior lineman. He will square off against PFF’s #7 guard, Yanda on some plays.Casey lines up on the nose and at 3-technique. Coordinator Dean Pees will surely match him up against the Ravens below average blockers at center and left guard when feasible. Baltimore may opt to keep an H-back in to help contain the penetrator. Preventing Casey from collapsing the pocket will be paramount. As with all quarterbacks, Joe Flacco does not play well with pressure in his face.CB Tavon Young vs WR Taywan TaylorYoung is having a fine season after returning from a torn ACL. He corralled a beautiful diving interception last Week and is still the Ravens best option to man the slot, even after the return of Jimmy Smith. However Lamar Jackson Jersey Boys , he can struggle to cover the better slot receivers, as evidenced by his performance on Tyler Boyd in Week 2. Enter Taylor, a shifty second-year receiver who has turned 23 targets into 169-yards and a score since Week 2. Because Tennessee’s rushing offense has significantly regressed from last season and top wideout Corey Davis has not shown an ability to make an impact against quality corners, Taywan is likely to be Marcus Mariota’s best option in Week 6.Baltimore is unlikely to generate consistent pressure against a line that has surrendered just nine sacks, but if Young can neutralize Taylor, the defense should dominate once again.QB Joe Flacco vs S Kevin ByardByard picked off Flacco twice last year in route to an All-Pro season. Yet he has not played as well in 2018 under Pees. Meanwhile, Flacco is coming off arguably his worst game of the season last week in Cleveland. With cornerbacks Adoree’ Jackson, Logan Ryan and Malcolm Butler, Tennessee does field the ideal skillsets to mark Baltimore’s top receivers. Flacco will need to utilize his tight ends Cheap Lamar Jackson Jersey , specifically rookie Hayden Hurst in the seam, to push the ball downfield. Notably, the Titans 11 passes allowed of 20-plus yards is second fewest in the NFL. In a contest that will almost certainly be decided by turnover differential, Pees will use Byard as a moveable chess piece in an attempt to confuse a quarterback he is extremely familiar with.
The answer is Michael Palardy Replica DJ Moore Jersey , for the record."Who is the punter for the Carolina Panthers? The answer is Michael Palardy, an answer that should be obvious if you look at the handy roster that the team keeps posted on Panthers.com or if you bothered to read our 2018 special teams review this morning. We felt the need to answer this very important question for two reasons: primarily because Google seems confused on the subject and secondarily because it is the offseason and when else are we going to talk about punters?None of these guys are Michael Palardy.Palardy, for the record, has been punting for the Panthers since 2016. He took over for an injured Andy Lee (who does appear among the above suggestions) that season and then beat Lee out for the job in a 2017 training camp battle. He is under contract for the next three seasons following the contract extension he signed last year. The suggested punters for the Panthers, per Google, include Lee, whom Palardy beat out for the job Stitched DJ Moore Jersey , Mike Scifres, who retired after not playing a snap for the Panthers, Jordan Gay, who similarly never played a regular season snap in a Panthers’ uniform, Brad Nortman, who is also no longer in the NFL, and Jason Baker Baby DJ Moore Jersey , who retired in 2012 after seven seasons with the Panthers and 12 in the NFL. Palardy, once again, is none of those people. Palardy, to be clear, is still in the NFL and still under contract to provide punt related services to the Carolina Panthers in 2019, 2020, and 2021.If you’d like to know more about Palardy you can dig into researching his statistics (he is a pretty average punter) here. You can also take a look at a breakdown of his contract (he is paid like a pretty average punter) here. That means today we were supposed to take a closer look at safety Damian Parms Best DJ Moore Jersey , but because he was placed on injured reserve after suffering a shoulder injury in the Panthers’ preseason opener against the Buffalo Bills, we’ll talk about his replacement instead—defensive back Alex Carter.Alex Carter, Defensive backBioHeight: 6’0”Weight: 200 lbsAge: 23College: StanfordNFL Experience: 1 yearAlex Carter was drafted in the third round (No. 80 overall) by the Detroit Lions in the 2015 NFL Draft. He has spent time in Detroit, New England, Chicago and Seattle on the practice squad and has only appeared in one NFL game (in 2016—he didn’t record any stats). The Panthers picked him up as a free agent after Damian Parms landed on injured reserve following a shoulder injury in the preseason opener last week. While there’s always a chance, it’s unlikely that Carter will make the 53-man roster. He could be a candidate to end up on the practice squad, however Adult DJ Moore Jersey , as an option for depth in the secondary if someone else gets hurt. Carter can play both cornerback and safety, so his versatility might be something Ron Rivera is interested in enough to at least keep him around as a ‘break glass in case of emergency’ option this season.
The Lions fell behind the Bears 26-0 on their way to a third straight loss by a double-digit margin in Week 10 and that leaves them with a 3-6 record in nine games under first-year head coach Matt Patricia. With an offensive line that’s allowed 16 sacks the last two weeks and a defense that isn’t consistently making stops http://www.lionslockerroom.com/authenti … ggs-jersey , some might believe that things have gone off the rails in Detroit. Whether that’s the case or not, Patricia said the team isn’t panicking about the way things have played out.“I believe in this team and we’re going to work real hard every single day,” Patricia said, via the Detroit Free Press. “I think the guys in that room have a great understanding of what they are and what we’re going to do as a team. We’re not hitting the panic button right now or anything like that right now. We’re just trying to get better. I think that’s our biggest thing is just try get some improvement.”It’s a test of a coach to find a way to pull things together when it seems like things are coming apart at the seams and this will be Patricia’s first chance to show he’s able to do that. The Lions have three straight home games, but stopping the slide won’t be easy. The Lions will be facing the Panthers and Bears in a five-day span with the Rams visiting in Week 13 Austin Bryant Jersey 2019 , so Patricia and company have their work cut out for them in the coming weeks. That was a fun week, wasn’t it? The Detroit Lions picked up a huge win on the road against the Miami Dolphins. They racked up the most rushing yards they’ve had in 20 years. And a couple days later, they traded for exactly the kind of player they needed for just a fifth-round pick. Arians is bringing Byron Leftwich as the Pass-Game Coordinator, Clyde Christianson as the Quarterbacks coach and Harold Goodwin as the Run Game Coordinator. He has a long history with each of the names mentioned above. What hasn’t been attached to any of the names above is who will call the plays. It certainly is possible that one of these guys could call the plays, but all signs point to Bruce Arians being the guy who will be in Winston’s ear throughout the game. Expect confirmation on this tomorrow during the press conference. Stay tuned to BucsNation.com and we will update any confirmation we receive on this matter. EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) — Crazy as it may sound, the New York Giants are starting to believe they have a chance to make a run at the playoffs. It’s amazing what a couple of wins can do for a team after a 1-7 start.Saquon Barkley ran for a career-high 142 yards and scored three touchdowns as the Giants held off the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 38-35 on Sunday to win consecutive games for the first time since December 2016.“I think there is some excitement going around,” said Eli Manning , who hit 17 of 18 passes for 231 yards and two touchdowns. “It is good. It is a good feeling to have in the locker room and you see some growth. You see the improvement.”What the Giants (3-7) are doing is making plays and finishing. The running game has picked up and it’s opened up the passing game, and the defense is forcing turnovers. The group intercepted four passes in sending the Bucs (3-7) to their fourth straight loss with linebacker Alec Ogletree returning one 15 yards for a touchdown.“I just know that we’re playing better and I just love to see these guys in here after the game with smiles on their faces http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/aut … art-jersey ,” said receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who caught an 8-yard touchdown pass. “We just put it all together, so it’s always a lot more fun when you win.”Playing in the NFC East also helps increase the belief the Giants are not dead.Washington, which fell to Houston and lost quarterback Alex Smith for the season to a broken leg, leads the division with a 6-4 record. No other team has a winning record.“We’ve got a long way to go, there are a lot of things we’ve got to get better at, but if we can just keep battling and fighting, who knows?” coach Pat Shurmur said. “That would be a fun thing for everybody to write about.”The Giants never trailed as Manning found a wide-open Barkley on a 6-yard TD pass on the opening series, and the No. 2 overall pick in the draft scored from 5 yards out on the second possession to give New York the lead for good.“We’re finishing games and we’re finishing drives Chris Conte Jersey White , and that’s what we weren’t doing in the first half of the season,” Barkley said of his first winning streak as a pro.Tampa Bay made things interesting after Jameis Winston replaced a turnover-plagued Ryan Fitzpatrick in the third quarter and led four touchdown drives. The last score came on a 41-yard pass to Mike Evans with 2:22 to play and got the Bucs within 38-35.The Bucs got the ball back at their 20 with 23 seconds to play, but B.W. Webb intercepted Winston’s long throw down the sideline to ice the win. After Tampa Bay got within 31-28, Manning, whose only incompletion came on a short pass to Barkley late in the second quarter, connected with tight end Evan Engram on a 54-yard pass and run on the second play after the kickoff, and Barkley capped the drive with a 2-yard run with 3:52 to play. The Winston-to-Evans TD pass closed the gap to three points again.“It hurts me when I have to see my team lose a game because I turned the ball over,” Winston said. “And I’m sure it hurts Fitz. And I’m sure it hurts anyone that has a hand in what they believe led the other team to winning. That’s our main focus. We have to find a way to win.”Fitzpatrick scored on a fourth-down 1-yard run for the Tampa Bay, which squandered a chance to score on its opening possession when Fitzpatrick was stopped on a quarterback sneak inside the Giants’ 5.Evans recovered a fumble in the end zone in the third quarter to start the comeback http://www.buccaneerslockerroom.com/aut … ett-jersey , Peyton Barber tallied from 5 yards out and Adam Humphrie s and Evans caught TD passes in the fourth quarter to get the Bucs within three points twice.Winston finished 12 of 16 for 199 yards and two touchdowns. Barber rushed for 106 yards on 18 carries. Evans had six catches for 120 yards. Fitzpatrick was 13 of 21 for 167 and the three interceptions.INJURIESBuccaneers TE O.J. Giants DL Kerry Wynn left the game in the second half with a concussion.WELCOME SACKJason Pierre-Paul, the Giants’ 2010 first-round draft pick, returned to face his old team for the first time since being traded in the spring. He had 1½ of the Bucs’ four sacks. He helped Manning up after the first sack.“I just said to him: ‘Get up, stop falling,’ but no, I was just helping him up because that used to be my old teammate and I’m not trying to hurt him, I’m just trying to play football and have good sportsmanship,” Pierre-Paul said.Kareem Martin had the Giants’ first and only sack in the last three games.UP NEXTBuccaneers: Host the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.Giants: Travel to Philadelphia to face the Eagles on Sunday.
Andrew Luck's big secret is finally out. He's been throwing a football for weeks — and now he's throwing in public Womens Jessie Bates III Jersey , too.Nearly 17 months after undergoing surgery on his injured right shoulder, Luck jogged onto the practice field Tuesday wearing a red jersey, strapping on a helmet and picking up a special ball as he started throwing in front of reporters for the first time since October. No, it wasn't a regulation NFL ball and the longest pass he attempted was only about a 20-yard lob, but it still was progress."It's a lighter football," Luck said, referring to the striped football he tossed around. "It's sort of a bridge. I've thrown a real football, 'The Duke,' whatever you want to call it. I've picked it up and I've thrown it and it felt great. And honestly Clark Harris Jersey , there was a little mental block to doing it and I had to do it sort of by myself."Throughout the process, the Colts have been tight-lipped about Luck's progression.Just last week, coach Frank Reich acknowledged Luck was "real close" to throwing. He even played "toss" with Luck three weeks ago, the first and only time he has thrown "The Duke," the standard NFL ball. Luck then swore him to secrecy, and Reich obliged the team's biggest star."Sorry, I confess. It really was hard for me to say that," Reich said of the continual denials about Luck throwing a football. "It really wasn't a workout. That was how I justified it in my mind."The wait for Luck's expected return from a partially torn labrum, which kept him out all of last season Womens Malik Jefferson Jersey , has been as agonizing for Luck as it has been for Colts' fans.Just two weeks after he started throwing in October, the Colts shut down Luck because of what he described as lingering soreness. He changed the description Tuesday, saying the soreness was actually real pain.Luck spent a couple of weeks seeking second opinions before heading to Europe where he continued working out until late December. He returned to the team complex just before the regular-season finale and presumably had spent the past six months ramping up to start throwing between the end of minicamp and the start of training camp in late July.Just last week, Reich said Luck was "real close" to throwing.Clearly, though, the second round of rehab has gone far better than the first."I had pain last year and then I wasn't being honest to myself about it," Luck said. "I was trying to get through pain, per se. There's none of that right now. My arm feels normal (now). Doing things feels normal."Reich said the plan is for Luck to steadily ramp up his throwing so he can throw four times per week at camp to mimic a regular-season schedule. Even preseason appearances could be possible.Reich and team owner Jim Irsay believe Luck will make his first start in almost 21 months when the Cincinnati Bengals come to town Sept. 9.Luck agrees."I really think there are not hurdles, it's just us protecting him http://www.thebengalslockerroom.com/aut … gil-jersey ," Irsay said. "I think we'll go through the progression of the preseason and he'll be ready to go against the Bengals."Skeptics note all of this has been said before.Last August, Irsay was still saying he expected Luck to come back during the first month of the season. Instead, Luck never took a snap. But Luck and the Colts insist this time is different, and not just because Luck is throwing earlier in the process than last season."I can just tell you he has looked really good in his sessions. There have been enough sessions that I have seen — with whatever kind of ball it is — it's looked good," said Reich, a former NFL quarterback who had similar surgery after his 14-year pro career ended. "There have been some throws where I would say letting it all out rip."Luck was cautious and played it close to the vest with the nearly two dozen throws he made Tuesday. That's also part of the plan, and one Luck believes will get his career back on track."I just believe I'm on the right path. I believe I'm going to be absolutely — I believe I'm going to be better than I was. I really, really do," he said. "I believe I'll be a better quarterback for this team http://www.thebengalslockerroom.com/aut … son-jersey , a better teammate." For the 49ers Womens Jerick McKinnon Jersey , who will be the breakout guy, comeback kid, rising star, don’t forget about, needs to rebound, darkhorse MVP, and under the radar players for 2019?"Roster day continues here at Niners Nation. On Tuesday, this was going around on Twitter. Fans of teams are trying to decide who their teams breakout guy will be, comeback kid, rising star, don’t forget about, and needs to rebound. For the San Francisco 49ers, this is especially interesting. So many young guys played in 2018 that you can have legit arguments for each. Let’s start with the “breakout” player.Breakout player- Mike McGlincheyOur own Mark Saltveit thinks it’s newcomer Jordan Matthews. I’ve also seen some fans say Matthews might be a surprise cut candidate come August. Can an offensive lineman breakout? I think so. My answer is McGlinchey. Last year, the 49ers struggled to run the ball off right tackle. They were 26th in the NFL. That’s all on McGlinchey by any means. Assuming the injury bug doesn’t decimate the roster again in 2019, the production running the ball behind McGlinchey will be much improved. If the 49ers are able to put up big numbers Frank Gore Jersey White , it’ll be because their offensive line took the next step forward. I imagine everyone will look much better with Jimmy Garoppolo under center, and McGlinchey is the biggest beneficiary here.Comeback kid- Jimmie WardThe front office is banking on Ward. He really doesn’t have much of a choice. It’s quite the gamble. Ward appeared in 16 games just once over the course of his five years in the NFL. This will be the best defensive line Ward has played with by a good margin. Assuming he is indeed the free safety, the do-it-all safety rewards the front office by playing a full season and playing to his full ability.Rising Star- Fred WarnerWarner will be another player that benefits from the added help in front of him. Warner was sound as a rookie, and that’s exactly the type of player you need in Robert Saleh’s defense. Someone that knows where to be and doesn’t mess up their assignments. Another year under Warner’s belt and I believe we’ll see the missed tackles go down. He’s already all over the place. Of the all the 49ers on defense, Warner feels like the safest bet to be a rising star.Don’t forget about- Weston RichburgIn hindsight, giving Richburg a five-year, $47.5 million deal doesn’t look great judging by how Richburg played in 2018. Pro Football Focus graded Richburg as a51.9 overall grade, which put him 33rd among 38 qualifiers. He also surrendered four sacks (tied for second most) and 23 quarterback hurries (tied for third most) on the year.Richburg was really good in his four-year stint with the New York Giants. A concussion in 2017 cut his season short. Last year, he was obviously hindered by injury. Richburg had surgery to clean up what was causing problems in his knee and quad back in January. A full recovery, and we should see the Richburg that deserved the contract he received last offseason.Needs to rebound- Jaquiski TarttTartt has too much talent to play like he did in 2018. What Tartt showed in 2017 was a Pro Bowl level player. Injuries and inconsistent play has derailed a promising career. In 2019, it’s time for Tartt to make it happen for 16 games. He’s another player the front office is banking on to perform. SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Nick Mullens remembers getting the phone call from Archie Manning inviting him to the prestigious Manning Passing Academy two summers ago.Mullens savored the chance to take part in the four-day clinic run by Archie and his two NFL quarterback sons, Eli and Peyton. Mullens especially relished the opportunity to watch Eli Manning take part in some of the drills.“To see how he moves in the pocket, he has very quick feet and is just very smooth,” Mullens said. “I definitely remember just sitting there and watching him throw. I took that all in.”Mullens now will get another chance to see Manning up close when he makes his second career start for the San Francisco 49ers (2-7) on Monday night against Manning and the New York Giants (1-7).Mullens is coming off a scintillating debut Womens Deion Sanders Jersey , completing 16 of 22 passes for 262 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions for a 151.9 passer rating in a 34-3 victory over the Oakland Raiders. That’s the highest rating since the merger for a player in his debut with at least 20 attempts.Things might not be as easy now that the Giants have an idea of what Mullens can do.“I think they’re going to be like, ‘Oh crap. This guy is good,'” running back Matt Breida said. “I think they’ll put more people back there to cover because of the throws he made and can do.”While Mullens is just getting started, Manning is nearing the end of his career as he plays his 15th season for a team that is struggling mightily. New York has lost five straight games and the questions are mounting about how much longer the two-time Super Bowl MVP Manning has as quarterback.“I think there’s urgency to get things going, for sure,” Manning said. “We got to get some wins. We got to get going, and everybody wants it. The team needs it, for the morale and for just the hard work and everything we put in. Just need to reap the benefits of the work, and feel good about what we’re doing.”Here are some other things to watch:SPLENDID SAQUONRookie Saquon Barkley has been a rare bright spot for the struggling Giants, topping 100 yards from scrimmage in seven of his first eight games. Barkley has been a bit hit and miss with 16 runs for negative yards, tied for fifth worst in the league, and 11 plays that gained at least 20, which is tied for second most among running backs. Barkley is just the ninth player to gain at least 1,000 yards from scrimmage in the first eight games of his rookie season.“I’m not one of those guys that says Womens Garrett Celek Jersey , let me see my stats, let me see how much I ran for this or that. I just play,” he said. “I’m not going to stand here and lie, I am very active on social media, so there’s fan pages of me and I can go on Instagram or even on my explore page and they just happen to pop up. I’ve seen predictions of what I’m capable of doing, but it means nothing to me.”PRESSURE POINTThe struggling pass rush for the 49ers broke through in a big way last week with eight sacks against Oakland. Cassius Marsh led the way with a career-best 2 ½, and Dekoda Watson had 1 1/2 in his first game after coming off IR. San Francisco had eight sacks in a game only once in the previous two decades, doing it against the Rams in 2009.KITTLE’S CATCHESSan Francisco tight end George Kittle has been a big-play threat all season. He had a 71-yard catch and run last week against the Raiders, making him the first tight end since Rich Caster in 1972 to have two 70-yard catches in the same season. Kittle ranks second among all tight ends with 692 yards receiving and is second to Barkley among all players with 496 yards after the catch.STRUGGLING FRANCHISESTwenty-eight years after these franchises met in the best matchup in “Monday Night Football” history, they now play in one of the worst. Back in 1990, the 49ers beat the Giants 7-3 in a matchup of 10-1 teams that provided the highest winning percentage ever for a Monday night game played after Halloween. The teams come into this meeting with a combined winning percentage of .176, the second lowest for a Monday night game played Nov. 1 or later. The lowest combined winning percentage is .167 for a matchup of the New York Jets (3-9) and the Chargers (1-11) in 1975 that featured Hall of Fame QBs Joe Namath and Dan Fouts.
What a failure of a game. I think it could be classified as “Sad!” as the POTUS would tweet. No one on the Titans did their job. Even Kern shanked a punt. Ryan Succop didn’t even have the chance to kick a FG or extra point. The Titans are averaging 13 PPG D'Andre Walker Tennessee Titans Jersey , which is abysmal, and if they continue to put up these efforts, it’s going to result in more and more disastrous games. Turron Davenport wonders if the Titans should make a trade to acquire a reliable pass catcher. Amari Cooper is reportedly available, and he’d be a huge upgrade. Taywan Taylor and Corey Davis are not near enough as WRs, and this team needs more WRs to get into 11 personnel on a regular basis instead of relying on the 12 personnel they’ve used to this point in the majority of snaps. Marcus got sacked 11 times yesterday!!!! Some of those sacks are on him, but the majority seemed to be directly on the OL Quinton Spain Jersey , which could not stop the one legged Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.Wesley Woodyard ruled out and other notes from Friday’s injury report The Titans will be without the services of starting inside linebacker Wesley Woodyard and starting safety Kenny Vaccaro this week. Woodyard suffered a shoulder injury against the Eagles that the team seemed hopeful that it wasn’t a serious injury. We knew that Vaccaro was likely going to be out after suffering a dislocated elbow against Philadelphia. He’s expected to miss 2-4 weeks total, but my guess is that we see him return after the Titans Week 8 bye.Woodyard was injured just two snaps in to the Eagles game which means we’ve likely already seen what this linebacker group will look like this week. Jayon Brown becomes the “every down” linebacker for the Titans as he did last week against the Eagles and first round pick Rashaan Evans will get the majority of the snaps next to him. It will be good experience for the rookie as he continues to work in after missing most of training camp. Will Compton and Daren Bates will rotate in as needed behind those two.At safety, veteran backup Kendrick Lewis will get the start next to All-Pro Kevin Byard. Lewis got his first action as a Titan last week and is the kind of steady presence that you want filling in when a starter goes down. Rookie Dane Cruikshank and special teams ace Brynden Trawick would be the next guys up.Outside of that, the Titans appear to be approaching full strength. Blaine Gabbert and David Fluellen will make their returns this week and backup tackle Dennis Kelly even got a full practice in on Friday. He is listed as questionable for the game Sunday. On the other sideline, the Bills are also relatively healthy, but starting safety Micah Hyde Will Compton Jersey White , backup safety Rafael Bush, and starting tight end Charles Clay are all listed as questionable. If neither safety can go, Buffalo would be in some trouble there opposite Jordan Poyer.
Tampa Bay entered their matchup against the Saints looking to keep their slim playoff hopes alive for another week. There was plenty of reason for optimism after a strong first half of play had the Bucs in the lead by a score of 14-3 Jamel Dean Jersey , but a blocked punt and no second-half offense doomed the team.Outside of a bad drop by Peyton Barber on the first play, things couldn’t have gone better for Tampa Bay on the first drive of the game. Winston came out and hit Mike Evans on a perfect deep ball for a 36-yard completion on the next play. Barber took a run up the middle of the defense for 13 yards and then Winston scrambled away from pressure and added 14 more yards on the next play. The Bucs were in business at the Saints’ 12-yard line just four plays into the game.Winston then found Cameron Brate on a beautiful back shoulder throw in the end zone on 3rd-and-9 for the game’s first points. Cairo Santos nailed the extra point and the Bucs led, 7-0.Terron Armstead’s injury reared it’s ugly head early on as a holding penalty on Jermaine Bushrod - Armstead’s replacement - put the Saints behind the sticks and they couldn’t recover. They had to punt the ball from midfield and the Bucs took over at their own 25. A defensive pass interference call prevented Tampa Bay from going three-and-out. A few plays later, wide receiver Adam Humphries too a huge hit while catching a pass over the middle for a first down on 3rd-and-7. It was a major lick from Saints’ safety Marcus Williams, one big enough to cause Humphries’ helmet to come off as he hit the ground. Hump just popped back up, hyped more than ever and ready to go. But Winston and Humphries couldn’t connect on the next third down try and the Bucs had to punt. Carl Nassib came crashing through the offensive line and took down Alvin Kamara for an eight-yard loss on second down that forced New Orleans into just their 17th three-and-out of the season. Tampa Bay was able to drive all the way down to the Saints’ 20 thanks to some big throws and a big run from Winston, but a gaffe by Donovan Smith on 3rd-and-9 led to the Saints’ first sack of the game. The eight yard loss put Cairo Santos in position to attempt a 46-yard field goal. The kick looked like it was going to sail through the uprights until it curved at the last second and bounced off the right upright. Brees and the Saints started at their own 36 after the miss and Brees immediately came out and found Thomas for a 17-yard pass that put them in Tampa Bay territory. Another big reception by Thomas on 3rd-and-4 put the Saints in the red zone, but Tampa Bay’s defense held them to a 30-yard field goal and Will Lutz knocked it through. Tampa Bay’s lead was now 7-3. The Bucs ran into a bit of luck after Chris Godwin fumbled his first reception of the day, only to have Brate fall on top of it. Multiple, idiotic penalties by several players on offense over the course of the next few plays saw the Bucs punt the ball back into the waiting arms of the Saints. Now, the visiting team had a chance to score before halftime and would receive the ball after the half. This would be a big drive for the Tampa Bay defense. The Bucs tried to challenge a questionable no-call on a Kamara fumble, but there wasn’t enough evidence to overturn the down-by-contact call on the field. As it turns out, Tampa Bay didn’t need that call to go their way, after all. Adarius Taylor read a Saints’ screen perfectly and stepped in front of throw to make the interception. He was able to rumble down the field for seven yards to the New Orleans 39-yard line. The defense did its part Jamel Dean Tampa Bay Buccaneers Jersey , now it was the offense’s turn.An illegal hit on a defenseless receiver call opened up the drive and Tampa Bay was able to take advantage, but it was Winston who made the play of the game up until this point. He made multiple defenders miss on an exciting scramble and was able to find an open Humphries just before he crossed the line of scrimmage. Humphries was able to take the ball all the way inside the Saints’ one-yard line, stopping just short of the goal line. Winston found Brate for the second time of the first half in the back of the end zone off a play fake and the Bucs extended their lead to 14-3.The touchdown didn’t come without a price, however, as Demar Dotson landed on Winston’s plant leg. The quarterback looked to be in some major pain and went into the locker room early. The Bucs went 5/8 on third down in the first half, compared to 2/5 from the Saints. The most impressive stat was Tampa Bay’s run defense. They allowed just three yards on the ground through the first two quarters. The defense picked right up where it left off in the first half. Nassib came flying off the edge on second down and was able to knock the ball out of Brees’ hands. Jason Pierre-Paul was able to recover the ball and complete the strip-sack play. But the Saints held strong on defense and forced another field goal attempt. This time, it was from 40-yards out and this one had no chance. Santos and the Bucs watched it sail wide left and the Saints were spared three points. Fortunately, Tampa Bay has Vinny Curry on their side. He was able to crash through theB-gap and take Ingram down behind the line of scrimmage on 3rd-and-1. It was the second three-and-out for the defense and the Saints had to punt. More outstanding scrambling from Winston and a big catch by Evans helped Tampa Bay move the ball, but a big Godwin drop left the Bucs in punting position. New Orleans’ special teams came up with the biggest play of the day and blocked the Bucs’ punt. The Saints were in business as they took over at the Tampa Bay 30.Mark Ingram rumbled down to the Bucs’ 11 for 19 yards and a few players later, Brees found a wide open Zach Line for the Saint’s first touchdown of the game. Alvin Kamara then ran in the two-point conversion on a quick toss to the left to cut Tampa Bay’s lead to three points, 14-11. The second half struggles continued for the offense on the next drive. Winston was sacked twice and the end result was a three-and-out. How ironic is it that at this point, it was the defense that needed to bail this team out?Brees came out and hit Johnny Lee-Lewis for a 20-yard completion right off the bat. The Saints quarterback was then able to wait out the pressure and find Kamara for a first down on a 3rd-and-2. The Bucs’ defense was able to force the Saints’ offense into a 4th-and-goal from inside the one-yard line, but Brees leapt over the entire defensive line and was able to get the ball over the goal line. The extra point was good and the Saints now led, 18-11.Tampa Bay couldn’t do anything with the ball on their next drive and the Saints took over. A big reception on third down by Michael Thomas sparked the rest of the drive that ended with an Ingram touchdown to run. It was the dagger the Saints needed and they now led 25-14 with about seven and a half minutes to play. Both teams exchanged possessions until the Saints drove down and hit a late field goal to make it a 28-14 final. Tampa Bay is now (5-8) on the season. They will travel to Baltimore next weekend. Kickoff is set for 1PM EST. TAMPA Youth Jamel Dean Jersey , Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have placed defensive tackle Mitch Unrein on injured reserve and signed long snapper Garrison Sanborn.Unrein, slowed during training camp and preseason by a concussion, is eligible to be designated for return from injured reserve. Sanborn re-joins the team two days after being released when the roster was trimmed to the season-opening limit of 53 players. The Bucs also announced Monday the signing of 11 players to the practice squad, including linebacker Eric Nzeocha, who’s part of the International Player Pathway program and not eligible to be activated during the season.Others signed to the practice squad include offensive lineman Cole Boozer, cornerback Javien Elliott, defensive ends Demone Harris and Patrick O’Connor, tight end Tanner Hudson, safety Godwin Igwebuike, defensive lineman Jeremiah Ledbetter, running back Dare Ogunbowale, linebacker Azeem Victor and wide receiver Bobo Wilson.
A daily compilation of 49ers news from around the net. Saturday http://www.49erslockerroom.com/authenti … ead-jersey , April 6th, 2019 edition."Holy spumoni gentlepersons, we’ve got a veritable smorgasbord of “not particularly interesting, but it’s the offseason” type articles today. It wouldn’t be sports media, let alone NN, if we didn’t take advantage of this fine opportunity to fire up the ol’ overreaction machine (patent pending) and scream ourselves hoarse. The 49ers signed defensive lineman Damontre Moore to a 1 year deal, which will likely end up as vet minimum, perhaps with a token signing bonus and performance-tied escalators. Considering the unusual sensitivity that has recently plagued this community regarding the future of the team’s pass rush, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Moore’s name come up frequently in discussions leading up to the draft. Of course, the major battle rages between the Nick Bosa and Quinnen Williams camps, and adding yet another edge rusher might stoke that flame unnecessarily. Folks, take a deep breath and say it with me: camp body.Allow me to explain.MeasurablePlayer 1Player 2MeasurablePlayer 1Player 2You see, I’ve listed the combine results for a pair of 26 year old “edge rushers”. One has 10 career sacks, and the other has 11.5 career sacks, both contributing roughly 1 sack per 6 games in reserve roles. One of them is Damontre Moore, and the other is Cassius Marsh. It doesn’t matter which one is which, because they have the exact same athletic profile and very little production to show for it. Moore is not going to change the 49ers decision-making process in the draft lead up. His ceiling for this team is “depth”. Moving on Fred Warner Jersey White , DeMarcus Lawrence earned a nice payday from the Dallas Cowboys, averaging $21 million annually over 5 years. Considering the value placed on pass rushers in this league, the deal shouldn’t be considered much of a surprise. Kyle Madson of Ninerswire pushed out a pair of articles considering how the deal might affect the 49ers; I’d suggest you read them as you would have read any April 1st article. The first one considers the possibility that DeForest Buckner’s agent might try to force a holdout if his client doesn’t get star edge rusher money. Although the connections are good, a leap of faith is required. Ultimately, it’s just feasible enough to start an uncomfortable conversation. The second one, which I’m still considering omitting, ponders a timeline in which the 49ers get rid of Buckner because he might cost too much in the future, and just draft Quinnen Williams instead. You know what, I’m getting all worked up about it. Finally, Arizona Cardinals head ball coach Kliff Kingsbury continues to embark on his “Why do people think I want Kyler Murray so badly?” tour, as he played up the strengths of Josh Rosen and committed to evolving his scheme accordingly. The more Kingsbury fights the Murray rumors, the more I’m starting to believe that the sports world saw a golden opportunity to haze the rookie, and it’s been the gift that keeps on giving. Ideally, this wouldn’t even be a blip on the radar, BUT, Nick Bosa hangs in the balance.49ers sign DL Damontre Moore to 1 year deal | Fitzgerald, SF Chronicle | Maiocco Womens Aaron Burbridge Jersey , NBC Sports Bay Area | KNBR Media Services | Associated Press via ESPN | Madson, NinerswireKliff Kingsbury remains vocally supportive of Josh Rosen | Chan, NBC Sports Bay AreaCould DeMarcus Lawrence’s contract affect DeForest Buckner’s? | Madson, NinerswireCould DeMarcus Lawrence’s contract affect the 49ers’ draft plans? | Madson, Ninerswire SANTA CLARA, Calif. (AP) — Jeff Wilson is making the most of his chance in San Francisco’s injury-riddled backfield. After starting his rookie season as an undrafted player on the practice squad, Wilson will be thrust into a starting role this week after the latest injury to a 49ers running back.Wilson showed he might be up to the task with a strong performance in his first extensive action as a pro last week in Seattle. He rushed for 61 yards on 15 carries and caught eight passes for 73 yards as one of San Francisco’s few bright spots in a loss to the Seahawks. His physical running style sparked the Niners (2-10) out of a sluggish offensive start on a day leading rusher Matt Breida injured his ankle in warmups and managed only limited action.“That’s his style. That’s what got him an opportunity in this league,” coach Kyle Shanahan said Wednesday. “That’s what he does best. That’s why he’s going to make it. I hope he doesn’t lose that, for his and our sakes. He runs hard and that’s what he does good. Hopefully, we can keep him healthy and he keeps getting better and better.”Wilson wasn’t supposed to have this big a role as a rookie. He signed with San Francisco as an undrafted rookie out of North Texas last spring and was far down the depth chart at the start of training camp. But projected starter Jerick McKinnon went down with a season-ending knee injury a week before the opener, backup Raheem Mostert then went down with a broken arm on Nov. 1 and now Breida is out this week against Denver with the injured ankle. That has given Wilson a chance to play and show what he can do down the stretch run of a lost season for San Francisco.“I’m just trying to do my job,” he said. “I don’t have any personal goals. I just love and enjoy playing football. As long as I do that, it will be good for me.”Wilson was lightly recruited out of high school and ended up at North Texas, where he ran for 3,204 yards in four seasons. He went undrafted but was attracted to the Niners because of the success running backs coach Bobby Turner has had with unheralded backs during his lengthy career in the NFL.Wilson bulked up a bit since joining the 49ers and has impressed his coaches with a physical running style.“You always have to pick and choose your battles,” he said. “I’m not just going to run down the middle and just do it willingly. There are certain times you do it and certain times you don’t. I’m an aggressive runner.”The pleasant surprise for the 49ers has been at how quickly Wilson has adapted to the passing game. He caught just 70 passes in four seasons in college, but showed a good ability to be a threat in the screen game with eight catches last week.He said he’s worked extremely hard at improving that aspect of the game and the results have been clear.“He’s done a great job of learning the offense Womens Trent Taylor Jersey , running, blocking, pass routes,” quarterback Nick Mullens said. “He can do a little bit of everything and once he got his opportunity, I think everybody saw how hard he runs. That fires me up. He brings it every carry that he’s going to get. So, I think Jeff is ready to step in and take that role on for sure.”NOTES: Shanahan changed up the practice schedule, having the players come in an hour early and leave earlier in the day. Shanahan said he just wanted a change, although he did notice players being a little more groggy at the opening meeting at 7 a.m. “Sometimes, you’ve got to yell a little bit more to make sure they’re attentive in the early meetings because they’re not all drinking as much coffee as the coaches are,” he said. … The Niners signed long snapper Colin Holba to replace the suspended Kyle Nelson. … Edge rusher Pita Taumoepenu was promoted from the practice squad to replace the injured Dekoda Watson, who went on IR. … Breida (ankle), safety Jaquiski Tartt (stinger), C Weston Richburg (knee) and LT Joe Staley (rest) didn’t practice.
DETROIT (AP) — Carter Hart bounced back from his worst performance in the NHL with one of his best Connor Brown Jersey , flourishing as he played on consecutive days for the first time in the league. The breakout rookie had 37 saves to help the surging Philadelphia Flyers beat Detroit 3-1 on Sunday night after he gave up a career-high five goals in an overtime win against the Red Wings the previous day.“His response was obviously tremendous,” Flyers interim coach Scott Gordon said.Ivan Provorov scored a tiebreaking goal early in the third period. Oskar Lindblom had two goals for the Flyers, breaking a scoreless tie early in the game and sealing the victory with an empty-net goal with 1:26 left.Philadelphia has won 12 of its last 14 games, moving into contention for a wild card in the Eastern Conference playoffs or perhaps for one of the three guaranteed postseason spots available in the Metropolitan Division.“No team goes on a stretch like this without strong goaltending,” Gordon said. The 20-year-old Hart won his NHL debut on Dec. 18 and he is 13-6-1, including an eight-game winning streak that tied a league record for goaltenders younger than 21. Since Jan. 14, Carter has won 10 of 11 games.“I’m not trying to get too far ahead of myself or live in the past,” he said. “I just want to worry about every challenge that I’m presented with.”Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds challenged Detroit’s Anthony Mantha to a fight in the opening minute, retaliating for his hit from behind against Claude Giroux on Saturday.“I just had to finish it off really quick and get back to playing hockey,” Simmonds said. “You just want to make a stand that we’re not going to get bullied. If teams are going to try that, we’re going to step up and defend one another.”Mantha said Simmonds told him before the game he was prepared to drop the gloves.“He goes Frederik Andersen Jersey , ‘I hope you’re going to be a man,'” Mantha recalled. “I said, ‘Will that earn your respect?’ He said, ‘Yeah.'”Even though Detroit had 38 shots, its only goal came early in the second period when Darren Helm made it 1-all.“Carter Hart had an outstanding game, but I felt our team also played outstanding in almost every area,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. “We just need to score more goals, especially when we are playing a very good defense like that one. Hart had something to do with it, but we have a lot of young players who have learned how to create scoring opportunities but aren’t as good at finishing them.”Jonathan Bernier started and stopped nine shots in the first period for the Red Wings before leaving the game with an upper-body injury.“We think it is more of a neck problem and that he’ll be fine,” Blashill said.Bernier was replaced by Jimmy Howard, who had 11 saves and gave up a goal to Provorov while his view was obstructed on the shot from just inside the blue line.“I never saw it Womens Jake Gardiner Jersey ,” Howard said. The Red Wings have lost five of seven, moving closer to being eliminated from postseason race for a third straight year.NOTES: Flyers D Philippe Myers made his NHL debut. … Detroit F Gustav Nyquist missed his first game of the season because of flu-like symptoms.UP NEXTFlyers: Host Tampa Bay on Tuesday night.Red Wings: Host Chicago on Wednesday night. Semyon Varlamov stopped six of the eight shots he faced in relief for the Avalanche.”He got hit in the head there on a play around the net and was going in for the concussion protocol so we put (Varlamov) in,” Colorado coach Jared Bednar said. ”I haven’t caught up with the trainers yet (to check his status).”Wheeler’s drought-ending goal – he had a dozen assists during that span while playing center – came when his shot from behind the goal line hit Bernier’s left skate and slid inside the post at 10:09 of the first period. The Jets outmuscled and stole the puck just before their first two goals in the second.Byfuglien won a battle along the boards with winger Gabriel Landeskog and passed the puck to Connor for his 19th goal of the season at 10:49.Scheifele then stole the puck from Rantanen while Winnipeg was short-handed and went on a two-on-one for Copp’s fifth goal of the season at 15:50.Four seconds after Avalanche forward Gabriel Bourque went to the penalty box for goaltender interference, Laine scored his team-leading 26th goal and NHL-leading 15th power play of the season on a one-timer with 28 seconds left in the period.Ehlers deflected in a Myers’ shot from the point 5:24 into the third period for his 22nd goal. I couldn’t get to it. They had a chance, we had a couple chances, and the last goal wins, obviously, and they were able to find it.”Just 30 seconds into the extra frame, Draisaitl carried the puck across the blue line, with McDavid to his right. Keon Broxton has made challenging plays look routine for the Milwaukee Brewers.
The center fielder’s latest gem may have been his best one yet.
Broxton helped preserve a lead in the ninth Authentic Sam Darnold Jersey , rookie Nate Orf hit a solo homer in Milwaukee’s two-run seventh and the Brewers beat the sliding Minnesota Twins 3-2 on Wednesday.
Broxton was on deck when Orf went deep two batters after Brad Miller hit a solo shot off Jose Berrios (8-7) to lead off the bottom of the seventh. It was Orf’s first career hit after coming up empty in his first seven at-bats.
Just a couple weeks ago, Broxton and Orf were also teammates at Triple-A Colorado Springs.
”Yeah I think I’m more excited about Orf’s home run,” Broxton said with a smile.
The Miller Park crowd was just as deliriously happy with Broxton’s catch. He ran full speed back to the wall and jumped with an outstretched glove to rob Brian Dozier of a homer for the second out in the ninth.
Broxton, filling in for the injured Lorenzo Cain, also made a tough catch at the angled part of the wall in center in a 6-5 win over Minnesota on Friday. He made a diving grab in the ninth last week to preserve a win at Cincinnati.
But manager Craig Counsell said Broxton’s latest catch was ”special … that one, he was on the run and had to time everything absolutely perfectly.”
The play prevented a rocky ninth for Corey Knebel from getting any worse. Eduardo Escobar hit his 13th homer and Jorge Polanco singled with two out, but Max Kepler flied to left to end the game. Knebel picked up his 10th save.
The Twins closed out a 1-8 road trip with their sixth consecutive loss.
”Frustrating. Dozier hits that ball and they made a heck of a play on that ball and then (Escobar) goes deep,” Twins manager Paul Molitor said.
Jesus Aguilar and Manny Pina lifted Orf up by his legs at the dugout steps to help the rookie answer a plea for a curtain call from a vocal crowd following his homer in the seventh.
”They picked me up and that’s when I noticed they wanted a curtain call,” Orf said. ”Next thing I know, I’m in front of all the fans on their shoulders. It was awesome.”
ON THE MOUND
Jeremy Jeffress (6-1) picked up the win despite allowing Dozier to score from third on Jorge Polanco’s bloop single to left for a 1-all tie in the top of the seventh. The hit snapped a stretch of 20 1/3 scoreless innings for Minnesota against the Brewers.
Berrios allowed five hits, struck out three and walked two in seven innings. He got little support from Minnesota’s punchless offense, which managed just three hits in the first 6 1/3 innings against Chase Anderson.
”I feel mad. As a pitcher, I never want to lose,” Berrios said. ”We had a chance to win the game and then they hit me for two homers. So I don’t like that.”
Twins first baseman Joe Mauer got his 414th career double in the fourth inning, matching Hall of Famer Kirby Puckett for the franchise record.
”Yeah, that whole play, I think it was the best play I’ve ever made.” – Broxton on his ninth-inning catch.

Welcome back, Buffalo. You, too, Jacksonville and Tennessee. It’s been a while, Los Angeles.
The NFL playoffs open this weekend with a few teams – and cities – that have been merely spectators in January for years.
The Bills (9-7) are, of course, the poster boys of postseason dreaming, earning their first playoff appearance since 1999 and ending a 17-year absence that was the longest for any team in the four major North American sports leagues.
”It definitely was a goal of ours, but it doesn’t just stop here,” quarterback Tyrod Taylor said. ”We’re excited to be in this position and we have a great opportunity in front of us.”
They also have the Jaguars (10-6) standing in their way. Jacksonville is in the playoffs for the first time since the 2007 season, and won its first division title since 1999.
The Bills also will see a familiar face Sunday leading the other sideline in coach Doug Marrone, who was Buffalo’s head coach from 2013-14.
”For me, obviously the past is past,” Marrone said. ”They have earned it as well as we have earned it. My focus obviously is going to be on our football team. It’s as easy as that for me.”
Football fans in Los Angeles haven’t been able to watch a home team in the postseason since the Raiders beat Denver on Jan. 9 Authentic Josh Allen Jersey , 1994, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum – site of Saturday night’s showdown between the Rams (11-5) and the defending NFC champion Atlanta Falcons (10-6).
The Rams haven’t hosted a playoff game since 1986, before 31-year-old coach Sean McVay was even born. McVay is now the youngest coach to make the postseason.
”Until you take a step back (to see) what this team has done such a nice job with, you can’t fully appreciate the journey,” McVay said. ”You try to, every now and then, enjoy it and not get so caught up in the moment that you can’t enjoy the experiences as you’re going on that journey.”
The Titans (9-7) last made the playoffs back in the 2008 season , when Jeff Fisher was coach. Nine years later, it’ll be coach Mike Mularkey and quarterback Marcus Mariota leading Tennessee into Kansas City on Saturday against Andy Reid’s playoff-tested Chiefs (10-6).
”It’s been a long time coming,” tight end Delanie Walker said. ”We thought that at the beginning: if we get in, we can go all the way. That’s our mindset and that’s how we’re going to play.”
Tennessee at Kansas City
The Titans lost three in a row before beating Jacksonville in their regular-season finale to get into the playoffs. Now, they’ll try to win their first postseason game since beating Baltimore on Jan. 3, 2004.
Tennessee allowed only 88.8 yards rushing per game, but will have a tough task against Chiefs rookie Kareem Hunt, who led the NFL with 1,327 yards on the ground.
Kansas City has won four straight after a four-game skid that put their playoff hopes in doubt. But the Chiefs haven’t won a postseason game at home since topping Pittsburgh in January 1994.
”We completed the first step and now it’s on to the second one, which is winning this game Eagles Dallas Goedert Jersey ,” quarterback Alex Smith said. ”It’s tough to add any more motivation with historic streaks or things like that.”
Atlanta at Los Angeles
The Rams have been one of the NFL’s best stories all season, with McVay leading an impressive turnaround – in the standings and with quarterback Jared Goff.
The franchise’s return to Los Angeles last year was hardly a happy homecoming with a 4-12 record, but things certainly changed in a hurry. Goff went from being a somewhat disappointing No. 1 overall pick to leading the league’s No. 1 scoring offense.
Running back Todd Gurley’s re-emergence as one of the NFL’s most dynamic and dangerous players has certainly been key. He finished second in the league with 1,305 yards rushing and had an NFL-leading 13 TD runs to go along with six TD receptions.
While this is all new for the Rams, Dan Quinn’s Falcons will lean on their experience with Matt Ryan, Julio Jones and Co. trying to make a second straight run to the Super Bowl.
”We’ve been tested,” Quinn said. ”I thought we’ve come through the fires to the other side together as one brotherhood. We’re battle ready.”
Buffalo at Jacksonville
After lengthy playoff droughts, one thing is for sure: either the Bills or Jaguars will get at least as far as the second round.
This is the first time since 1999 that Jacksonville is hosting a postseason game, and fans are fired up. Tickets went quickly and the team received permission to remove tarps covering four sections of seats in the upper deck to create 3,501 additional seats at EverBank Field.
”It’s good for both organizations,” said Jaguars linebacker Paul Posluszny, who spent his first four seasons with the Bills. ”It’s good for the NFL to have two teams that haven’t been to the playoffs in a long time to have the opportunity to play.”
The Jaguars had the second-ranked overall defense in the league, with a ferocious pass rush that produced a franchise-record 55 sacks.
Taylor and the Bills might have to try to make things happen against that unit without running back LeSean McCoy, who was considered day to day after being carted off the field last Sunday against Miami with an injured right ankle.
”This team thrives off adversity,” Bills guard Richie Incognito said. ”It thrives off neg
